One of the Logan Hyperdome’s main drawcards was the renowned Piazza precinct. In order for the precinct to favour a more family friendly destination, it was decided to reconfigure an existing licensed tenancy into four individual food outlets offering a multi-cultural dining experience. With over 10 million customers visiting the Hyperdome annually, maintaining full operation of the centre was a key priority. Construction of the project was heavily staged, with particular focus on store access, dust control and sightlines to the adjacent food court, bowling centre, and Cinema complex. mcd Australia was engaged to deliver Design and Project Management, and Superintendent and The Piazza reopened fully May 2014 to much acclaim from patrons.
