MCD Australia was engaged by Fife Capital to provide Project Management services for the redevelopment of their existing sub-regional Pines Elanora shopping centre. The redevelopment included a new 4200m2 Woolworths, 1800m2 ALDI, 30 specialty tenancies, two new malls and entries, 200 rooftop carparks and a 2000 solar panel array (600kW) covering the carpark.
Procurement of a D&C Contractor was based on 80% resolved design documentation. Construction was constrained with a tight programme to shut the existing Woolworths after the Christmas trading period, and reopen less than 12-months later for trading by the next Christmas period, plus the need to maintain full operation of the remainder of the shopping centre trading, including Coles, Kmart and 40 specialty tenancies.
