LOCATION: Brisbane
CLIENT: LaSalle
VALUE: Withheld
ROLE:
Following the addition of the old ‘Custom Credit House’ heritage building on Queen Street to their portfolio, LaSalle is undertaking numerous refurbishment and tenancy refit works to reposition the asset as high-quality commercial offering. MCD Australia is engaged as Project Manager for a number of these elements, including the complete renovation in 2019 of the tired and dark street level Lobby with new wall treatments, marble and granite floors, seating alcoves and furnishings, as well as upgrades to glazing, lighting and signage, all in keeping with the heritage aesthetic.
Additional works in 2020-2021 included installation of new fire-rated windows to level 1 and 2 of the northern facade, and full height, operable sashless windows to several levels of the rear facade to create a contemporary indoor/outdoor space within the tenancies. In 2023 render repairs and repainting to the north and south facade are underway, as well as the cleaning of the important heritage sandstone facade that faces onto Queen Street.
As the building is listed on the QLD Heritage Register, considerable approvals, exemptions and coordination is required with Council, the Heritage Department, contractors and project Architects to ensure preservation and compliance is maintained.
