ROLE:
The Australian Dental Association’s Queensland (ADAQ) branch headquarters is spread over two properties at Hamilton Street in Bowen Hills. ADAQ wish to consolidate and refurbish the site to reposition for the next 20 years.
In 2023 MCD Australia was appointed as Project Manager to work with ADAQ, Evolve Construction as an ECI partner, and Wallace Brice Architecture, to focus on accessibility and functionality to ensure the new spaces are future proofed to serve the growing needs of the headquarters, including housing the Dental Museum, Dental School and Training facilities complete with simulation laboratories and radiation equipment.
Initial investigations indicated outstanding compliance issues needed to be resolved as part of the refurbishment works, and close collaboration with State Government and Brisbane City Council was required to chart an acceptable path forward to gain the necessary retrospective approvals and new development application. With this now behind us, works will commence in 2024.
