The project created an Integrated Community, extending the established Regency Park Retirement Village with new accommodation options included a 128-bedroom Residential Aged Care Facility over 2 storeys, positioned around a large, secure, landscaped central courtyard. A new Community Hub was also created that invites local community groups and on-site residents to be a part of the integrated lifestyle through use of a Café, Auditorium and Salon. Architectural language is sympathetic to the local rural vernacular and Easterly dwellings taking in panoramic views of the Scenic Rim ranges.
MCD Australia managed the project delivery from concept to completion and appointed an ECI Contractor at concept stage for buildability and cost planning advice,and which and was converted to a GMP contract. Detailed Client reviews and workshops established learnings from a recently completed facility in SE QLD, resulted in cost savings of $25K per bed with higher quality, upscale appointments and lower running costs.
The programme achieved an impressive 14-week impact assessable Development Application and the builder was on site two weeks after approval was received. The project was completed on time in September 2018.
