414 George Street, formerly known as the McDonnell and East Building, was vacated by its anchor tenant. This prompted a major upgrade of the building which included a new lobby, upgraded amenities to Levels 1 and 2, strip out and make good and facade replacement, whilst working within the heritage design constraints.

The lobby was remodeled to incorporate a raised seating area and architectural features to compliment the heritage aspects of the building, bathrooms were modernised and additional showers provided on each level.  A contemporary look and feel was adopted for the river facing facade through the introduction of new feature cladding following the failure of the previous curtain wall system.
